  • Fishing shelter (Limanaki Vlychada)

Vlychada is located on the south coast, just a short distance from the archaeological site of Akrotiri (the Bronze Age settlement) and it is one of the island’s most popular beaches thanks to its striking volcanic rock formations. The picturesque marina of Vlychada is a small round harbor in which sailboats, speed boats, and fishing boats find shelter. The port where all the sailing yachts try to moor is a fishing shelter, renamed to the marina.

  • Tomato Museum

The museum is where the tomato factory used to be, founded by D.Nomikos in Vlichada. The historic factory was opened in 1945 by George Nomikos, the son of Dimitrios Nomikos, who was the first in Santorini to produce tomato paste with industrial means at a small pre-industrial plant in Messaria. On exhibit are a variety of interesting objects including processing machinery dating of 1890, documents, tools, labels, and old cans. The museum organizes workshops and fun activities for children.

  • Canava Traditional Folk Museum and traditional neighborhoods

Canava Traditional Folklore Museum Situated in Vothonas using original items. It includes traditional workshops of old occupations barrel-makers, etc.). The traditional winery is hosted in traditional cave houses of 1861. It holds a gallery, historical archives (manuscripts, etc.) and a chapel (Ag. Konstantinos). There is also a garden where the visitor can rest.

  • Horse riding in the traditional settlement of Megalochori

Explore the unspoil village of Megalochori on horseback and overlook the Caldera (the interior part of the breathtaking crevice formed by the volcanic eruption in Pre-Historic Times. Santorini Horseriding is so enjoyable that you will never forget a moment of this experience!   • Greek cuisine Restaurant for lunch with a glass of wine

Aegialos restaurant meal with traditional food (traditional cuisine) Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner are served in the courtyard. Most of the dishes are inspired by Greek cuisine and have unforgettable taste, The Chefs use mostly local ingredients.   • Akrotiri Lighthouse

The Akrotiri lighthouse, manufactured by a French company in 1892, is among the oldest lighthouses in Greece. In the 19th century and until 1988, it was powered by petrol fuel but became automatic. The tower is 10 meters tall. The lighthouse lays in a peaceful place, surrounded by sea, ideal for serene romantic moments. It is an excellent sunset-watching spot and along the way, one enjoys magnificent images. It is worth a visit as the sight you get to see is really magical.

  • Red Beach

A huge attraction of the island and unquestionably one of the most famous beach lies on the southernmost part of Santorini. It is located in Akrotiri village, 12 kilometers south west of Fira, close to the important archaeological site of Akrotiri. You will view enormous volcanic rocks in the sea, small pebbles and multicolored sand of various shades, mainly of red, All along the beach and appealing dark blue waters you can enjoy diving and take pleasure in snorkeling as there is rich marine life. Don’t miss this incomparable landscape!

  • Archaeological Site of Akrotiri (or else)

Akrotiri is a Minoan Bronze Age settlement, originally constructed around 4,500 B.C. By 1450 BC, it was destroyed first by an earthquake and then by the volcanic eruption of Thera. A new town was built on the ruins of the old town until it was destroyed by the volcanic eruption about one century later and remained buried until 1860. Akrotiris strategic position on the primary sailing route between Cyprus and Minoan Crete also made it important for the copper trade, The city was uncovered in 1967 by Archaeologist Spyridon Marinatos. It was associated with the Minoan civilization, located on the nearby island of Crete, due to the discovery of inscriptions in Linear A script and artifacts (preserved in the three-story houses decorated with frescoes, covered in volcanic dust). The tour allows the visitor to see how one of the first European civilizations used to live.

  • Black beach

An organized beach that boasts about its black sandy beach and is awarded with a blue flag, it is a unique beach for swimming, chilling and fun. The beach offers a Life Guard. Perissa is fully organized, offering various Beach Bars, night clubs, cafes and tavernas where one can enjoy refreshments, drinks and snacks almost 24/7! Visitors who enjoy water sports and diving usually choose Perissa Beach because of the wide variety offered. In the village itself, one can shop for clothes, there is also a supermarket and souvenir shops and a Museum of Minerals and Fossils. Also the church of Agia Triada (Holy Trinity). There are plenty of hotels. Above Perissa is situated the archaeological site of Archaea Thira and a beautiful view.

  • Traditional settlement of Megalochori

Megalochori Evidence of prehistoric settlements have been found. Megalochori is one of the most picturesque and preserved villages on the Island. One can see historical mansions with high walls and inner courtyards, traditional houses, pirate hideaways and wine canavas. The famous Vinsanto wine was exported from here. There is a wonderful square where you can find tavernas, restaurants, trees for shade.

  • Prophet Elias (sunset)

The highest point of the island (567 meters) from where you will enjoy a unique view of Santorini. The monastery, built in 1712, one of the oldest on the island, is a great example of Cycladic architecture. It developed intellectually, culturally and economically and ran a school from 1806 to 1845. It has a collection of icons, bibles, artefacts of the Greek Orthodox Church, ecclesiastical objects, books, etc. One can also see shoemaking, printing, candle making, winemaking. All the traditional goods produced and cultivated by the monks are available for purchase.

  • Cave and natural springs

The church of Zoodochos Pigiu (meaning Life Giving) can be found in the rocks following the path which links Perissa, the necropolis of Ancient Thira and Kamari. The winding path is a 10 min walk from beginning to end. It is advisable that appropriate shoes are worn during the walk. Beside the church lays a cave whose mouth is 26 meters wide and through which runs a natural fresh water source. Stalagmites and ponds of water adorn the cave whose water was the main drinking source in antiquity for, not only the city of Thera, but also for the whole island as well. The water of the spring is considered holy by the islanders.

  • Castle of Pyrgos

The Castle in Pyrgos is genuinely enchanting! From this point one can enjoy the view of the whole island. Walking the narrow streets that start at the town square and lead upwards, one discovers Old Santorini with its neoclassical mansions, narrow streets, white-washed houses, stoas, vineyards, churches (Theotokaki being the oldest) and most beautiful view at sunset.

It took our family twenty-one years of hard work, patience, and perseverance to complete the wine museum in this remarkable location, but it was all worth it.

From 1956 to 1996, the vineyard remained uncultivated. In 1997, the 100 acres were re-cultivated with aidani, an organic grape variety. Most of them are organic today. The wines during the wine-tasting are accompanied with goat cheese from the island of Naxos along with rusks. Wines: Vinsanto, Nychteri, Aidani, Santorini, Cuvée No 15, Assyrtiko de Mylos, Assyrtiko de Louros, Mavrotragano, Voudomato.
