The winding path is a 10 min walk from beginning to end. It is advisable that appropriate shoes are worn during the walk. Beside the church lays a cave whose mouth is 26 meters wide and through which runs a natural fresh water source. Stalagmites and ponds of water adorn the cave whose water was the main drinking source in antiquity for, not only the city of Thera, but also for the whole island as well.
